It's time for another Moe/Anderson Cousins' Christmas, carrying on the tradition of our parents' generation to gather once a year to celebrate both Christmas and family! This year, we will be gathering in beautiful Wabasha, Minnesota. We've chosen November 5 as the date, hoping this will be early enough to avoid any winter storms. (Cross your fingers!) Plan on arriving at noon, and you all are welcome to stay as long as you want. We'll plan to eat around 1:00 p.m.
Wabasha is a beautiful little town on the Mississippi River in southeast Minnesota, between Red Wing and Winona. The city is a tourist attraction in itself, and home to the National Eagle Center. The river roads on both the Minnesota and Wisconsin sides are beautiful, with many quaint little towns nestled in amongst the river bluffs. We'll be gathering at the historic Foley House on Main Street, just 1 block east of downtown Wabasha. There are two great motels in town, if you'd like to make a weekend of it.
Something new we're trying to organize for this year is a Cousins' directory. If you have kids, bring your address books to Cousins' Christmas. We'll collect everyone's addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, Facebook names, and even your Twitter name, if you're that brave. I'll collate all the info and send an email directory to everyone within a week or two after the big event.
Susan has some great genealogical info to share with us on the Moe/Anderson side of the family. The pictures are just great!
The tree is up, and all is ready. As always, this is a great chance to visit, share memories, make some new ones, catch up on everyone's lives, and to celebrate both Christmas and family. Looking forward to seeing all of you this coming Saturday!
P.S. - Let me know if you'd like to bring a dish to pass, and I'll put your delicacy on the list, so no one else brings the same thing!
